We’re a community owned freehouse nestled on the beautiful Cambridgeshire, Essex border. We are proud to serve delicious food, great drinks and a friendly atmosphere for everyone.

This season, we’re excited to launch our NEW AUTUMN MENU, celebrating the very best of local and seasonal produce. Think comforting classics and nostalgic pub favourites, all reimagined with care and a modern twist – the perfect flavours to enjoy as the days turn cooler.

Situated right on the ancient Icknield Way and National Cycle Route 11, The Lion is the perfect stopping-off point for walkers, cyclists, and travellers looking for a place to relax and recharge. There’s a cycle rack conveniently located and visible from our garden.

Our beautiful garden features a pétanque pitch and plenty of space to unwind. We are dog friendly and dogs on leads are very welcome in both the garden and bar.
